A 70th birthday marks a significant milestone, especially for a people’s person, an eye doctor and a natural-born leader. At the event, we sought to recount the fascinating journey of an uncommon boy from Pardes Hanna who became an ophthalmologist and thriving entrepreneur, lighting the way for those under his care at work and home.
We began with an accelerated, focused process comprised of in-depth research and overall concept development for the event. The connection between a great love of the sea on one hand, and ophthalmology on the other, gave rise to the concept of the “Lighthouse.” From this concept we built a nautical-inspired design language incorporating elements like sails, navigation charts, nets and lighthouses. To complete the holistic experience, we chose an event venue situated alongside a lake and served cuisine inspired by “land and sea.”
At precisely 1PM, the guest of honor entered and to his great surprise found close friends and family who came to celebrate, pay respect and above all say thank you for wonderful years together. After a seafood-centric welcome reception overseen by Chef Avi Torgeman, the 300 guests from Israel and abroad entered the specially designed space inspired by the Lighthouse concept for a lunch with land-sourced cuisine. Afterwards, the wonderful mentalist Shimmy Atias guided the audience through meaningful moments in the honoree’s life with great emotion, humor and interludes that blurred the lines between truth and illusion.
In the afternoon we held a Kabbalat Shabbat reception which included a performance by the fantastic “Rabibo Project” ensemble with beloved Mediterranean music that got the crowd, who wouldn’t stop dancing, excited.
